The Cross of Light – A Message from God

Sometimes extraordinary phenomena occur in our ordinary everyday life, and such is the story that follows. It is a story of trust and acceptance. 
Trust in following one’s intuition, or what I call Divine Guidance, and acceptance of the gifts given to us when we have willing and open hearts to receive.
Following Divine Guidance
By following divine guidance I discovered the Cross of Light, which you see here. This journey started in January 2006. Prior to that time, I was living in Hawaii and felt guided to move to New Zealand where I lived until January 2008.
Arriving in New Zealand, I first settled in Nelson and worked as a registered nurse. In January 2007, after resigning from my hospital nursing position, I packed all my belonging and put them in storage to travel and enjoy the raw beauty of this magnificent land. For over a month, I explored the South Island, and then took the ferry and crossed over to the North Island to continue this great adventure.
Driving along the East coast, I saw a sign indicating a retreat center up ahead. “I need to check this place out,” I exclaimed excitedly. I felt a tingling sensation running through my body as I drove up the bumpy dirt driveway. A builder working on the property informed me that the retreat owner was not at home. I was quite disappointed, and asked him to please give her my business card. I then left to find a place to stay the night.
Around 6:00 p.m. after settling in at an oceanfront campsite, I received a call from Elizabeth–the owner of the retreat. I told her a little about my spiritual journey and how I was drawn to check out her place. To my surprise she said, “I think you were drawn to come here so I could take you to meet my friend.” Initially I declined, feeling tired from the day’s drive but Elizabeth persuaded me to drive to her house so she could take me to meet this very special woman.
As I was changing my clothes, I heard a faint inner voice telling me to bring my laptop. I grabbed it and drove to the retreat center. With a cheerful smile, Elizabeth was waiting for me on her doorstep. We immediately jumped into her car and off we went.
When we entered her friend’s home, Elizabeth introduced me to Violet. I immediately felt a deep connection with Violet and we bonded instantly. The evening continued with the three of us sharing stories, talking until the wee hours of the night. They were both fascinated when I opened my laptop and showed them my photos of energy orbs and the sacred sites from around the world. We parted that night knowing that someday Violet and I would meet again.
That “again” occurred in December 2009. In the years between, I had gone back to live in Hawaii. During the summer of 2009, I again felt the strong desire to revisit New Zealand. Towards the end of that four month stay, I called Violet who urged me to come to see her, as she had something extraordinary to show me. I did not have a car and had to depend on public transportation. After a 12-hour bus ride, I finally arrived at Violet’s. We hugged and rejoiced at seeing each other again.
During lunch, Violet told me how a light phenomenon had been occurring in her bathroom window since 2008 and continued to appear every night, becoming most brilliant as the night sky darkened. Violet explained that she found several sites on the internet talking about this exact manifestation, called the Cross of Light. At the time of this publication, the Cross of Light is still shining in Violet’s bathroom.
The Cross of Light first appeared in 1988, in California. On May 27th of that year the Pasadena Star News wrote that residents reported seeing a cross shining through a bathroom window of an apartment in El Monte. Eyewitness Mona LaVine stated that she saw “a cross of a pale golden light–and simply beautiful.” Margaret Romero, the owner of the building, had the glass replaced, but the cross kept shining. According to the World Wide Web and newspaper articles, the cross of light revealed itself in countries around the world. Below is the Pasadena Cross of Light.

Sitting out side after dinner we gazed at the neighbors’ cows nonchalantly roaming the pasture in the warm evening. The clear night sky was slowly becoming darker. It was then that Violet called me into her bathroom to see the Cross of Light, which was beginning to form on the window. For the next two and half hours, standing in her unlit bathroom, inches from the window, we were mesmerized by this extraordinary phenomenon. As the night progressed the Cross of Light became brighter and brighter and more defined. I then noticed two similar crosses shining on each side of the center one. They were much bigger and appeared to be outside. When I went out of the house, the night was very dark. Surprisingly, I saw nothing in the window or in the yard.

Looking at the cross of light intently, we both felt drawn to its center. We had the clear sense that it was a doorway or passageway. My heart started pounding. I reached out and held Violet’s hand. We looked into each other’s eyes and back at the Cross of Light. WOW! We stayed bathed in this energy for hours. Using my Canon 5D SLR I took numerous pictures without the flash. To my astonishment, around 10:30 p.m., the Cross of Light simply vanished to reappear for Violet at 5 a.m. According to her, this is not unusual.

Message from God
Regardless of how this Cross of Light is used, either as a focus for meditation or just placing its image next to you, the message has always been that of love and healing. For some it is a specific answer to a question, for others it is a revelation. Such as it was for Cathy (a 51 year old) who placed it next to her bed and woke up with the stark realization of a void she had been trying to fill for a lifetime. Despite her sense of aloneness, she felt peace and deep love.

This Cross of Light gives me the certitude that I am always cared for. I now feel guided and freed from my fears and apprehensions. I feel deeply connected to God and trust my intuition more than ever. Violet received the simple yet profound message to be still, which has helped her on her journey. I believe that each person receives exactly what they need from the Cross of Light.
For me the Cross of Light is a universal symbol of love, which I had previously experienced in 2005 while meditating. I was then guided through a doorway similar to the center of the Cross of Light to experience my divine self as a being of light. Despite my resistance and fear of the unknown, I trusted my guardian angel who brought me through that doorway. The transformation that occurred then gave me the faith and courage to follow my intuition or divine guidance, leading me to Violet and the Cross of Light.
In today’s chaotic world we are all experiencing uncertainty. Some of you may be battling stress, fear or anxiety. I therefore believe that meditating with this Cross of Light will reveal to you what you need at that moment. I encourage you to trust and enter the doorway in the cross and surrender to the transformation. Transformation takes on many faces and change does not always relate to our ordinary life. Often it affects us without us realizing the change; we start feeling stronger, healthier or just enjoying peace of mind and contentment.
